Following from my blog a couple of weeks ago regarding my student Nicole McNally, I also wanted to give a shout out to another student of mine....Jabez. He is an incredible singer songwriter who works so hard at his singing and writing.....hard work and singing lessons pays off.
Fingers crossed and go get 'em!
Let's hope they get a thumbs up!!
As the winter kicks in you may be forget to drink! Here's why you should....
75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated.
37% of Americans mistake thirst for hunger.
Even MILD dehydration will slow down one’s metabolism as much as 3%.
In a University of Washington diet study, one glass of water before bed prevented midnight hunger pangs 100% of the time.
Lack of water is the #1 cause of daytime fatigue.
Preliminary research indicates that 8 to 10 glasses of water daily significantly eases back and joint pain for 80% of sufferers.
A mere 2% drop in body fluids can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on a computer screen or printed page.
Drinking at least 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risks of colon cancer by 45%, breast cancer by 79%, and bladder cancer by 50%.
Good luck to my singing student Nicole McNally, who has secured an audition for the HUGE talent completion; Britain's got Talent. Nicole is super talented and has a vocal to match!
At 10 years old she really does project a much more sophisticated voice. She made it to the Final of Talent Call in October this year.
The audition is on the 5th December. I wish you all the best Nicole.
PS Don't forget your warm ups up....and to relax and have FUN!
Well, it's been a while since I was last in the recording studio, so this weekend I finally completed the recording of 3 tracks written earlier this year.
Through out the year, I've been working with Rowena Court, a classically trained and brilliant pianist, who is so easy to work with. We will be performing together as the group, "Onyx" in the new year.
We've recorded our songs, Talk in Silence, Miss 49, and Guardian and you will be able to hear them hear as soon as they have been mastered!
I guess the songs are all quite different, 'Guardian', has a beautiful yet haunting sound to it, similar to Evanessence; 'Talk in Silence' has a soulful feel to it with elements of pop, and 'Miss 49', is a pop song with a slight folky edge to it. Quite an eclectic sound!
Thank you to Gary Bulgin, who owns 'Studio with no Name'. We were very impressed with how smoothly the recording day went, we truely had a great experience and fun recording with you. I think it is fair to say we both have come away with big smiles and feeling very excited.
Rebecca is a professional vocal coach and singer in her own right with many years of performing and coaching experience. She is passionate with all things singing related!
