Hi beautiful singers,
I am SO very proud of all those who took part in the showcase! I was privilidged to hold (and sing!) the first showcase at Absolute Music in the performance room! Well done to all. I am SUPER PROUD!!! Here's to the next one : ) Your coach Rebecca xx Meet Emma Jayne. She has been coming to me for a while now. When I met her she was fairly timid and shy, clearly lacking confidence whilst doing some vocal warm up....sometimes staring blank at me, as if to say 'You want ME to do THAT?' However when she opened her mouth and began to sing, what oozed was a gorgeous tone which had elements of dark timbre and angelic softness. Not bad for 12 eh? Since then she has come along way. She has sung in various talent competitions, social gatherings, and sung in recording studios. Most importantly Emma Jayne still has a warm sweet nature...(hopefully she will not become affected by the fame if/when she decides to go that route!) Most recently she has sung at a wedding. Not one but two songs! I have heard that she excelled and really come into her self and performed incredibly well, showcasing her unique natural style. A little birdy tells me that since the performance, others have asked her to sing at their wedding! Marvellous. Watch this space as she maybe at a venue near you singing! Singing can really make a difference! With the PA System up and the mics plugged in. It was show time!! As everyone walked in through the door apprehensive towards what was going to unravel, each student was about to sing in front of everybody else and show us what they were made of.
With a few warm ups on the keyboard and a chance to say a little bit about what they wanted out of the workshop it wa tme to rock n roll! I was so impressed with everyone for getting up and doing their thang! It is never easy getting up on stage singing. Nerves and adrenalin take over and it ca be easy for you to be a mess! But, one of the only ways you get over the nerves is .....yes you've guessed it, conquering your fear and getting up there and just DOING it. You will learn to keep your breathing steady, as dont forget that BREATHING S THE FOUNDATION OF SINGING. Yes easier said than done but everybody was so releaved that they done it. Well done to you all. Keep up the practising! On a frosty December evening many stars shone brightly for the MooreMelodies Christmas Show. 18 acts took to the stage at Moose Hall, a hidden gem with entertainment facilities ideal for amateur performances located in Winton, Bournemouth. Show director, Rebecca Moore, is a popular vocal coach and showcased many of her clients and students from the Hammond Academy of Performing Arts. The evening started with the infants. Singing solos, the confidence made you wonder if the next X-Factor could begin from here. With an electic mix of well known Christmas songs plus an original acoustic tune from singer/songwriter, Adam Dupree. Shows like this are fun and informal. With a selection of passionate individuals with will and determination. The audience were able to join in with the handout of lyrics as the festive spirit was in full swing plus a delicious buffet was also provided for the everyone involved. You could see that Rebecca had worked hard to make it all happen and with the support and guidance from Ms Hammond of the Academy, it was a fabulous evening celebrating the singing talents of the performers and the teaching skills of Ms Rebecca. Many thanks must go to MooreMelodies for an entertaining evening and most of all congratulations Rebecca for giving eager singers a platform to either progress in the industry or simply experience performing in front of an audience. The stars: Rebecca Leon Jamillah Carly Laura Thomas Tobias Jess Tash Sam Nicole Chris Vicky Adam and not forgetting the fantastic infants; Ollie, Olivia, and Taylor If you have voice that you can depend on to express your inner truth, you, like a lot of people can say it makes you happy!
Scientific research has already proven that vocal sounds as well as other sounds have a dramatic effect on our soul and body. (And you thought a lip trill or a siren was just for fun!) In fact, we know that certain sounds have helped heal people of physical illness. Pretty impressive right? Knowing this, we understand that singing is an incredible lift to our soul! The benefits are too great. (afore mentioned in a previous blog I believe) Just look at the faces of people singing inside a church and you understand the powerful effect of singing. There's a real belonging. Singing makes me happy. That’s why I teach it, and practice it! The more confident you become with your own natural voice and sing out without inhibitions, the happier and easier it will become. Enjoy singing, and it will go further than you have ever imagined. We all have the ability to feel like this. We are all born with vocal cords, so don't hesitate, start singing TODAY! |
