Standing in the 02 arena in London, waiting for what seems to be a life time for Mr cool, Mr smooth, Mr I can sing, dance, write. The crowd are anticipating for Bruno Mars.
He is so big now he will be singing at the Superbowl in America, He'll join Beyoncé, Madonna and Springsteen among the artists to have played the biggest gig on Earth, to a TV audience of more than 100 million.
The Hawaii-born singer entertained the audience beneath a giant disco ball!! Much of this show's immense watchability came from Mars's eight virtuoso backing musicians, the Hooligans. During Treasure they danced like James Brown and the famous Flames. Then came Runaway Baby, like a runaway train, where all of them would wind and grind comedically as Mars declares: "We got you ladies." Nicole Scherzinger was one of the ladies in the audience at the front. Bruno sang to her...she was clearly blushing! Not a jealous lady in sight..
His voice was a vocal feast for all (although it did seem like he was singing only to me when he sang, ‘When I was your man’). He sounded better than the cd I have in the car on repeat. It is very hugely impressive to keep up the stamina and sing so clear, with riffs and runs which sounded pitch perfect. Try running or jogging on the spot to see how easy it is to sing...
I will forgive you Bruno for being late on stage, just this once.
Friend and singer Elmarie Ward, has raised a staggering £1500 for her family and village in the Philippines. Thousands of people were struck by the devastating typhoon 2 weeks ago.
She built up enough courage to sing beautifully in Bournemouth square on Sunday 17th November 2013.
Singing for 30 minutes, Elmarie managed to keep strong and dignified singing different cover classics such as Elton John’s ‘Your Song’, and Norah Jones, ‘Sunrise’. I am glad I was able to help her go through some basics of singing and technique so she could become a little more confident whilst on stage. (It was the least I could do!)
Her efforts proved worthy, managing to raise £300. Last Sunday, Elamarie organised another event at the Manchester hotel where nearly £1000 was donated!
Her family can now have a new roof for their home in the Philippines; Elmarie has since received a call from someone willing to donate more money for her family, and would like her to sing on Saturday!
Thank you everyone who was able to support and donate.
Peace to all. xx
Just a quick 'good luck' to one of my students, Calvin. He will be auditioning for Britian's Got Talent tomorrow in London. He has written his own song which I think is a brilliant song just right for the show!
Good luck again! Show them what you have...which is oodles of talent, : )
Rebecca is a professional vocal coach and singer in her own right with many years of performing and coaching experience. She is passionate with all things singing related!
